Kilo Code
Product Marketing Manager | Kilo Code
About us
We’re building the fastest-evolving open-source AI coding agent to make programming accessible to billions. In just months: #1 on OpenRouter, 400K+ downloads, 5-star reviews, multiple Hacker News front pages — and we’re just getting started.
Kilo isn’t just another coding tool. We’re building a superset of the best AI coding features, powered by real developer feedback and community obsession.
The situation We’ve captured developer mindshare. Now it’s time to scale our story — clearly, consistently, and credibly — across users, buyers, and analysts. The product evolves weekly, our community moves fast, and our competitors are watching. We need a PMM who can translate technical velocity into market leadership.
You are
A storyteller who thrives at the intersection of product, marketing, and community.
Skilled at turning complex AI devtool concepts into sharp, memorable narratives.
Analytical enough to turn product data, community feedback, and analyst insight into strategy.
Comfortable partnering with engineers, founders, and GTM teams to make sure the right story reaches the right audience.
Fast. You bias toward shipping, testing, and iterating over waiting for playbooks.
Week 1 you will
Audit how we currently talk about Kilo across channels — website, docs, community, analysts.
Write or rewrite one piece of copy (landing page, release note, tweet) that instantly levels up our messaging.
Join a product sync, a DevRel call, and a customer chat to learn what’s actually resonating.
Month 1 you will
Define Kilo’s core positioning and messaging framework: what we are, who we’re for, and why we win.
Launch your first feature with Engineering and DevRel — fast, scrappy, and measurable.
Build the early motion for analyst relations: start outreach, run an intro briefing, and collect first impressions.
Partner with Sales to align messaging with what prospects are hearing in the field.
Month 3 you will
Lead multiple launches end-to-end — from narrative to assets to results.
Deliver the first competitive positioning pack and AR feedback summary.
Start seeing your messaging echoed back in community posts, analyst notes, and customer calls.
Measure what matters: awareness, adoption, and activation driven by your work.
What you’ll own
Positioning & messaging: Define and evolve how Kilo shows up in the market.
Launches: Drive go-to-market execution for new features and major releases.
Market & competitive intelligence: Track the AI coding ecosystem (Cursor, Windsurf, etc.) and feed insights into roadmap + GTM.
Sales & DevRel enablement: Create the narratives, decks, and content that convert interest into usage.
Analyst relations: Manage relationships with key firms (Gartner, Forrester, IDC) and make sure our differentiation lands in their reports.
The work setup
Remote-first, with in-person hackathon-style meetups every 2–3 months (Amsterdam/SF).
Product and messaging evolve together — your Monday deck may be outdated by Friday.
We thank people publicly, give feedback directly, and own our mistakes.
Your dopamine comes from shipping stories that move markets, not polishing slides for approval.
You’ll thrive here if you…
Have 4–8 years in Product Marketing or GTM roles (ideally in developer tools, SaaS, or AI).
Have launched multiple products or features end-to-end.
Can switch from writing a homepage headline to running a Gartner briefing.
Care deeply about developers and how they actually use tools.
