LOCATION:
Colville Tribal Healthcare Authority, Nespelem, WA
This is a Non-Exempt position. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for delivering a broad range of HR services that support the operational and strategic goals of the Colville Tribal Healthcare Authority. This role performs and provides guidance in areas such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, HR policy, and compliance. The HR Generalist acts as a trusted advisor to leaders and team members, ensuring HR practices are applied consistently and effectively across the organization.
Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, psychology, or related discipline. OR Other combinations of higher education and extended experience may substitute for the degree when it demonstrates the ability to fulfill the requirements of the position.
Requires 2 (two) years of experience in a human resources function.
Valid Washington State Driver’s License is required and must be insurable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
Ability to understand, speak, communicate and read the English language.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to analyze data from multiple information sources to draw conclusions or identify trends.
Ability to communicate professionally in written, verbal, and non-verbal formats while portraying a friendly tone, word choice, and body language.
Ability to be fair, consistent, honest, and unbiased.
Ability to take initiative and be proactive in the duties of the position in order to meet mandated deadlines and to comply with HR goals and objectives.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
Manual and finger dexterity to complete duties.
Ability to frequently bend, stoop, and reach.
Ability to push and pull frequently.
Ability to comprehend complex issues.
Sufficient visual acuity to write, recognize printed materials, computer screen, and notice non-verbal behavior.
Speech and hearing ability to project voice to small and large audiences, carry on telephone conversations, hear and grasp verbal communications and equipment prompts.
Ability to drive in adverse weather conditions.
Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.
TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.
If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver's license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
