Position Human Resources Generalist (TI-44306)

Salary $27.85 to $33.92 per hour DOE

Reports To Director of Human Resources

Location Colville Tribal Healthcare Authority, Nespelem, WA

Basic Functions This non‑exempt position delivers a broad range of HR services supporting operational and strategic goals. Key responsibilities include recruiting, employee relations, performance management, training, HR policy, and compliance. Acts as a trusted advisor, ensuring HR practices are applied consistently and effectively across the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, psychology, or related discipline. OR other combinations of higher education and extended experience may substitute for the degree when it demonstrates ability to fulfill requirements.

Requires two (2) years of experience in a human resources function.

Valid Washington State driver’s license is required and must be insurable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.

English language proficiency: understand, speak, communicate, read.

Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.

Analytical skills to compare and contrast data, draw conclusions, or identify trends.

Professional written, verbal, and non‑verbal communication with friendly tone, word choice, and body language.

Fair, consistent, honest, and unbiased.

Initiative and proactive to meet mandated deadlines and to comply with HR goals and objectives.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.

Manual and finger dexterity to complete duties.

Ability to frequently bend, stoop, and reach.

Ability to push and pull frequently.

Ability to comprehend complex issues.

Sufficient visual acuity to write, recognize printed materials, computer screen, and notice non‑verbal behavior.

Speech and hearing ability to project voice to small and large audiences, carry on telephone conversations, hear and grasp verbal communications and equipment prompts.

Ability to drive in adverse weather conditions.

Background and Testing Pre‑employment drug testing and reasonable suspicion/post‑accident drug testing as required. Background clearances must be maintained throughout employment.

Preferences Tribal member and Indian preference will apply; preference will also be given to honorably discharged veterans who are minimally qualified.

Driver's License Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ vehicle insurance.
