Are you ready to lead the charge as the AV Director at VSP? Job Description:
As the AV Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our audio-visual department for events, rentals, and hotel AV. This includes managing a team of AV technicians, designing and implementing technical solutions for a variety of events, maintaining equipment, and ensuring flawless event execution. You will be a key driver in upholding our high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong leader with excellent technical skills, project management experience, and a passion for the AV industry. You will be directly responsible for the development and training of our AV technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team. Responsibilities
Overseeing all AV operations, including sales, billing, scheduling, planning, loading, setup, operation, and strike. Checking equipment in and out. Managing, mentoring, and scheduling a team of 2 – 5 AV technicians. Selling and billing services to clients considering their needs and budgets. Maintaining and managing AV equipment inventory. Troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring seamless event execution. Developing and implementing AV department procedures, best practices, and training protocols. Managing project budgets and timelines. Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth event coordination. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and technologies. Client consultation and relationship management. Requirements
10+ years of experience in the AV industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Strong moral and passion. Strong technical knowledge of audio, video, lighting, and projection systems. Proven experience in project management and team leadership. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Familiarity with CRM software. Excellence in operating large vans and box trucks (CDL license a plus). Ability to lift 50 lbs. Availability for out-of-state travel, extended stays, and weekend work. Preferred Skillsets
CTS or other relevant industry certifications. Excellence in connecting, troubleshooting, and running digital or analog audio mixers (experience with Dante is a plus). Excellence in connecting, troubleshooting, and running DMX, sACN, or Art-Net lighting protocols. Excellence in programming lightshows on programs such as ShowXpress. Excellence in connecting and rigging trussing, staging, motors, and rigging. An eye for stage design and ability to use staging software such as Capture. Experience with video switchers and video processors, such as Novastar. Experience with projectors and pixel mapping. Budget management and forecasting skills. Experience in client relationship management. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and CAD.
