International Logistics Coordinator

Shelton, CT 06484 . With us, it’s all about finding the job that’s just right. At least one year of international logistics, import/export coordination, or global supply chain operations is required. Monday-Friday, day shift 40 hours per week Hybrid role, minimum 2 days per week in Shelton CT office (usually Wednesday and Thursday) Day typically starts around 8/8:30AM, ends around 5PM, including 30-60 minute lunch break. $30/hour Weekly pay Temp to hire The job consists of coordinating the daily execution of international import/export activities, collaborating with overseas suppliers and freight forwarders, and ensuring timely and accurate documentation. It includes running and analyzing reports, troubleshooting shipment delays, and supporting freight billing processes. A strong aptitude for systems and reporting, along with a high level of accountability, is critical. What’s a typical day as an International Logistics Coordinator? Manage and execute shipping activities for assigned international lanes, including air, ocean, trucking, and intermodal for both import and export. Collaborate with Freight Forwarders to ensure seamless transportation activities. Monitor, track, and expedite shipments to ensure on-time delivery, escalating delays and issues proactively to management. Generate, analyze, and summarize reports to identify gaps and recommend process improvements. Collaborate closely with overseas vendors, carriers, freight forwarders and internal stakeholders to maintain timely communication and issue resolution. Analyze logistical problems and develop solutions to improve efficiency, resolve issues and outline the action and mitigation plans. Conduct freight audit support by gathering and analyzing rate data and identifying discrepancies. Code and process invoices through relevant systems (BBS and TAP); upload freight bills to cost accounting and ensure timely approvals. Handle import and export inquiries with professionalism and urgency; ensure compliance with regulatory and company documentation standards. Provide spot quotes for air freight using global logistics software. Support system testing and implementation of enhancements or upgrades. Perform order requisition transactions and notify forwarders/carriers of payment updates. Requirements Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field. 1–3 years of experience in international logistics, import/export coordination, or global supply chain operations. Proven ability to work effectively and time-sensitive environments while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills cross functionally, and proactive, self-directed work deliveries. Strong previous demonstration for delivering result, creating team success, taking ownership and championing change. Ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities with minimal supervision. Experience using JD Edwards or global trade software platforms preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
