We are seeking an experienced Import/Export Administrator to manage international shipments of Copper‑Nickel and Stainless Pipe, Fittings, Flanges, and Tubing while also supporting the Director of Strategic Accounts with customer‑facing sales activities. This hybrid role blends compliance and logistics expertise with strategic account support, ensuring that U.S. Department of Defense and industrial customers receive timely, compliant, and value‑added service.

Import/Export Documentation & Clearance

Oversee all import/export activities related to CuNi and Stainless Products.

Coordinate and manage Customs clearance through a third‑party Customs Broker.

Ensure accurate and timely submission of entry packets, HTS classifications, and documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, mill test reports, etc.).

Validate Customs Broker deliverables for accuracy and compliance.

Defense Trade & Compliance

Manage and track shipments tied to DoD contracts and U.S. government procurement programs.

Administer the PIEE DFE process, including shipment acceptance, invoicing, and documentation uploads.

Maintain compliance with DFARS, Section 232, Buy American, and other applicable trade requirements.

Customs & Regulatory Management

Act as the primary liaison with CBP, Customs Broker, freight forwarders, and carriers.

Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations, including Section 232 tariffs, quotas, and exemptions.

Prepare and maintain audit‑ready records for internal and external compliance reviews.

Investigate and resolve Customs holds, discrepancies, or delays.

Process Management & Reporting

Develop and maintain import/export SOPs and compliance checklists.

Track duty and tariff exposure; assist in cost analysis related to trade policy changes.

Provide regular reporting on broker performance, clearance timelines, and compliance metrics.

Strategic Account Sales Support

Partner with the Director of Strategic Accounts to service shipbuilding, defense, and key industrial customers.

Prepare customer‑facing documentation (RFQ responses, pricing proposals, delivery schedules, and compliance statements).

Track order status from quote to delivery, proactively updating customers and internal teams.

Coordinate internally (operations, quality, finance) to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of strategic account orders.

Collect and analyze customer feedback, providing insights to the Director of Strategic Accounts for account growth strategies.

Support trade‑show preparation, presentations, and sales reports where compliance expertise intersects with customer requirements.

Maintain CRM/ERP entries for strategic accounts, ensuring accurate sales pipeline visibility.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience considered.

3–5 years of experience in import/export administration, Customs brokerage management, or defense trade compliance.

Familiarity with PIEE DFE processes and DoD procurement systems required.

Strong understanding of CBP procedures, EAR, USMCA, CoO, HTS classification, and Customs entry processes.

Prior experience in quoting, sales reporting, or customer order tracking preferred.

Demonstrated DDTC & ITAR experience is a plus.

Skills

Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.

Ability to manage multiple shipments, deadlines, and regulatory requirements simultaneously.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal and external coordination.

Customer service mindset with the ability to support strategic sales functions.

Proficiency with ERP systems, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience working with Copper Nickel and Stainless Steel materials in a defense or industrial supply environment.

Knowledge of DFARS, ITAR, and Section 232 tariffs.

Experience coordinating with major U.S. shipyards, primes, or defense contractors.

CES, CIP certification a plus.

Licensed Customs Broker or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) credential a plus.
