Wayland Baptist University – Plainview Campus. The dean will be required to be on site at the Plainview Campus.

POSITIONS SUPERVISED:
The dean directly supervises the School of Business associate deans, full-time online and Plainview campus faculty, and staff assigned by budget to the school. Deans also supervise adjunct faculty teaching online and on the Plainview campus.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The dean serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the school and reports directly to the VPAA.
SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES:
The dean is responsible for the annual revision of the Academic Catalog pertaining to the School of Business; all catalog changes must be approved by the Academic Council or Graduate Council.
The dean monitors and reports issues related to facilities and property used by the School of Business and its programs.
The dean oversees the Planning, Budgeting and Effectiveness Report (PBER), the annual budget, travel expenditures, end-of-year reports, and the WBU online schedule of business courses.
The dean leads the institutional effectiveness efforts, including program reviews, faculty reviews, and compliance with accreditation standards such as SACSCOC.
The dean completes all EFQ documentation as specified by the VPAA.
The dean ensures adherence to WBU’s Policies and Procedures.
The dean submits all reports promptly as requested, including the Dean’s Annual List.
The dean advises undergraduate and graduate students, participates in university committees, engages in professional development, recruitment, retention initiatives, faculty meetings, graduation ceremonies, and other university services.
The dean must be proficient in Wayland’s online teaching and retention management systems, completing necessary annual training.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A commitment to Christian higher education aligned with the Baptist General Convention of Texas and Wayland Baptist University. The dean must be a Christian active in a local congregation, embodying the university’s spiritual mission.
Education:
Earned PhD or DBA in a business discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience and Skills:
Recent experience in faculty administration at a college or university.
Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities independently.
Proficiency with computers and educational technology.
Interest in teaching and student development.
Leadership style that is professional and collaborative.
Desire to apply Christian principles professionally.
Work Environment:
Standard office setting with typical equipment. Temperature controlled, moderate noise levels.
Hours of Work:
Full-time, approximately 37.75 hours/week, Monday through Friday. The dean teaches twelve credit hours annually, schedule negotiable with the VPAA. Vacation is mutually agreed upon.

Employment is subject to an introductory performance review. Must provide documentation to verify identity and eligibility within three days of hire, be willing to travel, and possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory record.
