Overview
As our Business Performance Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how the B2B Supply platform measures and achieves success. You’ll collaborate with departments across B2B Supply and partner with corporate functions such as Credit, Accounting, and Finance to design and refine performance and financial indicators that drive smarter decisions. You’ll advise leadership on improvement levers, identify margin opportunities, and enhance forecasting accuracy, all while driving initiatives that strengthen bottom-line results and earnings predictability. You will bring strong technical expertise in data modeling and performance measurement, along with curiosity and problem-solving mindset to uncover deeper insights. This is a high-visibility, high-impact position where your insights and leadership will directly shape ENGIE’s performance and contribute to the company’s long-term growth. This position will sit in Houston, TX and remote to the Director, Business Performance. Responsibilities
Advise the Business Performance team to reduce gross margin variance and minimize prior period adjustments across a retail energy portfolio that generates $300M USD in gross margin per annum Contribute to the forecasting and reporting of delivered energy quantities, revenues, costs of goods sold, operating expenses, capital expenditures, and other key operational, performance, and financial measurements Contribute to the assessment and recommendation of key operational and performance indicators and operational controls to enhance the overall performance control framework of the B2B Supply business platform Contribute to the analysis and interpretation of a broad range of data from internal and external systems to develop actionable insights Contribute to the creation and maintenance of reporting that can be consumed by Group, Global Business Units, B2B Supply Leadership Team, and departmental audiences Contribute to the review of ISO and wholesale counterparty settlements data, wholesale market data, costing models, hedging strategies, and hedging effectiveness to reduce variance in forecasted versus actual costs of goods sold Contribute to the review of customer energy usage forecast accuracy to drive transparency and improvement, reduce wholesale market exposure, and reduce usage-driven prior period adjustments Collaborate and motivate effectively across a variety of functional teams and departments including Sales, Load Forecasting, Pricing, Portfolio Management, Operations, Billing, Settlements, and corporate Finance and Credit functions Qualifications
You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline. In lieu of a degree, at least ten (10) years of progressive, hands-on experience in forecasting, reporting, and data-driven analysis may be considered. You should translate complex data sets into meaningful insights and deliver actionable recommendations A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the retail energy sector, with expertise in market structures, pricing, forecasting, and portfolio management Highly motivated, intellectually curious self-starter who can advise a data-driven, results-focused team while contributing individually under demanding time constraints Excellent judgment, creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to synthesize complex ideas and large data sets into clear, audience-appropriate insights, both orally and in writing Skilled at collaborating across functions, motivating teams, and presenting information in ways that drive action and alignment Advanced technical proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel with VBA, Power Query/M, PowerPivot/DAX, PowerPoint) and BI tools such as Power BI Knowledgeable in querying and manipulating data with T/SQL and PL/SQL, familiar with Python for deeper problem-solving and data analysis Additional Details
This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy: three (3) days in office, two (2) days remotely Must be available to travel domestically up to 5% of the time and may require some overnight trips Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies Compensation
Salary Range: $99,000 – $151,800 USD annually This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan.
