Job Summary The
DAS Project Manager
plays a critical role in overseeing IT initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery across departments. Reporting to the
IT Assistant Deputy Commissioner , this role supports both the
Department CIO
and DAS business owners to ensure projects are successfully executed within scope, schedule, and budget. The Project Manager collaborates with vendors, service providers, and internal teams to drive performance and deliver measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
Manage small, medium, and large-scale IT projects of moderate to high complexity and risk.
Oversee and provide project management consultation across all phases of the
software development life cycle (SDLC) .
Collaborate closely with client teams, DAS business leads, vendors, and subject matter experts to align on objectives and deliverables.
Manage projects in compliance with
Statements of Work (SOWs) , vendor contracts, and steering committee directives.
Lead the development of project management tools including
scope, risk, communication, and performance tracking plans .
Monitor progress, report milestones, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
Facilitate project kickoff meetings, define roles and expectations, and ensure team readiness.
Oversee project costs, resources, schedules, and risk management processes.
Evaluate proposed scope changes and negotiate adjustments based on time, cost, and quality expectations.
Conduct
project closeout reviews
to verify deliverables meet quality standards and capture lessons learned.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or specialized training in IT project management.
Minimum
7 years of experience
leading projects of moderate to high complexity.
PMP certification from
PMI
or equivalent project management credential.
Hands-on experience using
MS Project ,
MS Visio ,
SharePoint 2013 , and
Microsoft Office 365 .
Nice-to-Have Experience
Prior experience in
public sector IT initiatives
or multi-agency technology environments.
Familiarity with
process redesign and operational efficiency improvement projects .
Experience with cross-functional team leadership and stakeholder communication at the executive level.
Required Skills
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Microsoft Project and Visio proficiency
SDLC and risk management expertise
