Overview Sana Biotechnology is growing, and we are hiring new team members who believe in the potential of engineered cells as medicines, who are passionate about delivering the possible to patients, and who lead with the desire to work on novel ideas.

What You’ll Do As a Supply Chain Category Manager, you will report to the Head of Supply Chain and Procurement to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver the raw material category strategy for Clinical Manufacturing.

Supplier Relationship Management – Set up programs to establish robust relationships with key TechOps suppliers, set cadence and facilitate regular meetings with core team and key Sana contacts, set KPIs and monitor performance, review open orders and monitor delays.

Sourcing/negotiation – Review BOMs for new materials/risky materials/opportunities for alternate sourcing, work in conjunction with technical SMEs to review pricing and set up agreements to assure supply.

GMP Supply Contract development – Work with Legal to develop acceptable templates with key terms and conditions to support GMP production, initial agreements could be put in place to assure supply and comply with Quality requirements.

Point person for Supplier Quality – Work closely with Suppliers and TechOps Quality team to ensure compliance to Sana’s Quality requirements, support internal Quality processes/programs which might overlap with Procurement protocols.

Point person for Materials Management – Work closely with Materials Management/Supply Chain to ensure supply, escalation point for stock‑outs/supply disruptions to work in conjunction with the supplier.

Set up Risk Management program for GMP Suppliers – Adopt current Sana’s new supplier onboarding and monitoring program to include attributes and monitoring for GMP suppliers.

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Economics, Engineering, Procurement or Supply Chain.

Advanced level of experience in raw materials procurement in a Pharmaceutical or High‑Quality industry. Sourcing for Cell and Gene Therapy experience required.

Drive and provide leadership for sourcing initiatives and projects and manage cross‑functional teams.

Purchasing expertise in planning, negotiating, and contracting. Strong understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement.

Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal and external contacts. Ability to foster and maintain strong business relationships.

Work effectively independently or as part of a team.

Demonstrate time management skills and be effective in a centralized organization with completing priorities.

What Will Separate You From The Crowd

Advanced proficiency in purchasing, sourcing, planning, and ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus.

Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications.

What You Should Know

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $150,000 - $200,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Occasional domestic travel (~10%) to other Sana sites and key vendors is anticipated.
