Data Warehouse Business Analyst – Talent Groups

Job Overview Our client is seeking two Business Analysts to support longitudinal data warehouse development, system testing, analysis, maintenance, and integration of reporting systems (Microsoft Fabric/Power BI). The role requires extensive K‑12 sector knowledge and experience building dashboards and reports for staff, school districts, and the public.
Responsibilities
Transition reporting and software features into technical requirements, including epics, features, and stories in Agile/Scrum.
Liaise between management, business units, external stakeholders, product owners, developers, scrum master, and product owner to identify and analyze opportunities for improving reporting processes.
Conduct research, analyze and document system requirements and business rules; create user stories.
Develop functional requirements and specifications, prepare process flow diagrams, and assist with quality assurance.
Work with others to accomplish project objectives and function independently as needed.
Required Skills
Prior experience in data warehousing or reporting projects (3-5 years)
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including meeting facilitation skills.
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
Fundamental understanding of end‑to‑end customer dashboard use integration and dependencies.
Experience preparing business requirements and functional specifications.
Experience writing user stories with clearly defined acceptance criteria.
Ability to estimate phases of work and contribute to project planning.
Ability to create test plans and perform application, reporting, and system regression tests.
Ability to synthesize requirements and work with developers to create options/recommendation papers for decisions to be made by any stakeholder level.
Preferred Experience
Minimum 2 to 5 years experience using Agile/Scrum Development Methodology
Experience working with education software or reporting systems at the school, district, or state levels.
Knowledge of data warehousing and reporting in the education sector (K‑12/P20W).
Experience using Asana to track and report on project milestones.
