Job Description The Company Wide Quality Control Manager (QCM) is responsible for ensuring that the quality on all facets of construction, quality assurance, and testing meet the requirements of the project’s contract documents as well as the goals for quality set by Carroll Daniel. Additionally, the QCM will play an active role in developing, updating, and executing project specific Quality Control Plans and working closely with CDCC staff and subcontractors to ensure compliance is achieved and properly documented. Responsibilities
Quality Control Manager Responsibilities Review and understand owner requirements for quality management on a project-by-project basis. Perform plan reviews with project team to review areas of QC concern, mock-up requirements, QC first work inspections, QC protocol, and initiate a plan to develop QC specific checklists for the project. Develop and implement Project Specific Quality Control Plans that are consistent with both owner and CDCC requirements. Assist in development of overall CDCC Quality Control Program and training of others in quality management as required. Work with project teams and subcontractors to ensure a thorough understanding of project quality requirements and the project specific quality control program. Assist in onboarding new team members and subcontractors to achieve this. Ensure understanding of quality requirements and expectations prior to the start of work. Attend and actively participate in pre-installation meetings with project teams and subcontractors to review material requirements, installation procedures and testing requirements prior to start of each phase of construction. Review submittals to ensure materials and equipment meet contract documents. Assist the project team to inspect delivered materials/equipment to confirm they match approved submittals and contract documents. Review manufacturer’s installation instructions and ensure installation complies where applicable. Review project testing and inspection requirements and work with project team to ensure all required tests and inspections are performed, in compliance with the documents, and properly documented. Inspect installed materials to ensure quality workmanship that complies with project requirements. Work with the project team and subcontractors to ensure non-compliant work is corrected and well documented. Review log of deficient work items and ensure open issues are resolved. Review log of testing requirements and ensure all requirements are met and documented. Complete QC inspections and prepare reports including work performed, deficient items, corrected items, and other pertinent information to document activities. Attend, witness and document all third-party testing required by the contract documents. Assist the project team in performing pre-inspections to ensure compliance of work prior to scheduling owner/client quality assurance inspections of completed work items. Perform miscellaneous quality control duties as assigned. Make recommendations for opportunities to improve quality management to project and company leadership. Qualifications

This role will require QCM to travel to project sites or to nearby CDCC remote offices. In some cases, this position requires that QCM be on the physical job site at any time that construction operations are taking place. Working shifts vary based on project requirements. Second shift, night shift and weekend shifts may be required. The project team and/or team member may need to move to other geographic locations for projected work, if necessary. Involvement in industry associations to promote the company as well as further personal education is required. Education & Experience
A graduate engineer having either heavy or building construction experience of not less than 7 years, and preferably in Quality Control or 3 years full-time experience with a consulting firm specializing in Quality Control Inspections. A non-graduate having either heavy or building construction experience of not less than 10 years, 3 of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity, and preferably experienced in Quality Control.
