Overview The Cancer Biology Laboratory (PI, Dr. Amy H. Tang) is seeking a competitive Ph.D. scientist and/or a new PhD graduate for the position of Postdoctoral Scientist at the Leroy T. Canoles Jr. Cancer Research Center at Eastern Virginia Medical School. This role will operate under the general direction and research supervision of the Principal Investigator, Dr. Amy H. Tang. Responsibilities A strong background and prior research experience in clinical and preclinical models of pancreatic cancer and triple negative breast cancer, oncogenic EGFR/K-RAS-driven cancer biology, tumor immunology, and/or systems biology. Managing the overall operations of the laboratory, including clinical database management, clinical animal models, ordering, recording, and inventory. Ability to multi-task in a highly creative environment and flexibility to work in a fast-paced team in a professional, interactive, and positive environment. Effective communication, meticulous data organization, and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to generate, analyze, and interpret scientific data with honesty, integrity, ethics, and high standards in science and medicine. Ability to perform data analyses and write scientific manuscripts in a timely fashion. Ability to effectively communicate with Dr. Tang and interact productively with her PhD/MD/MS students, as well as our clinicians/scientists/administrators. Qualifications Successful PhD applicants should have at least one first author publication from their PhD training and demonstrate scientific productivity, curiosity, dedication, high-quality work, a positive can-do attitude, great work ethic, and high-level professionalism while working in a multi-institutional team.
