The ideal candidate holds a
PhD in Life Sciences
with
postdoctoral research experience
and a strong background that integrates both
wet lab
and
computational biology
expertise. They possess advanced
computational training , particularly in
single-cell analysis , and are skilled in applying bioinformatics tools to biological questions. The candidate demonstrates the ability to design and execute experiments, analyze complex datasets, and collaborate effectively in an interdisciplinary research environment. Responsibilities
Lead and execute basic and translational cancer immunology research focused on tumor immune activation and suppression. Apply functional genomics, systems biology, and immunobiology techniques including co-culture, flow cytometry, and microscopy. Design, conduct, and troubleshoot experiments while mentoring and training junior lab members. Collaborate with the Principal Investigator on grant writing, publications, and scientific presentations. Demonstrate strong expertise in cell biology, cancer immunology, and wet lab methods, with motivation for leadership and continued learning. Contribute to a collaborative and innovative research environment within MD Anderson's state-of-the-art Zayed facility. Qualifications
Required:
PhD in Life Sciences
with
postdoctoral research experience . Preferred:
PhD
in Natural sciences. Preferred: Medical Degree. Work Experience:
Six years
of experimental or scientific work experience, or
three years
of experience with a PhD or medical degree. Preferred: PhD or postdoctoral fellowship in cancer biology or immunology, mouse tumor models, primary T cell culture, lentiviral production and transduction, flow cytometry, and/or use of Python/R to analyze biological data.
