Job Title: Project Controls Specialist
Location(s): Waterford, CT
Responsibilities
Assist with Capital Projects annual budget, monthly forecasts, and rider filing data.
Gather and analyze financial data pertaining to labor support for large, long-term capital projects.
Investigate variances with actual costs.
Require knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) for month-end liabilities and reporting.
Implement internal control policies and procedures.
Serve as a liaison between the project management team and various internal groups, such as station departments.
Develop Ad Hoc MS Excel models to summarize large data sets.
Lead meetings at station locations periodically.
Other related duties include:
Be a self-starter and make decisions independently.
Maintain strong attention to detail and high ethical standards.
Be proactive in identifying and solving problems of high complexity.
Exhibit strong organizational skills and an analytical/logical approach.
Synthesize diverse information (technical, schedule, and cost) and exercise good judgment.
Proficient in Excel and financial systems.
Soft Skills Requirements
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with SAP, Excel, Power Query.
High Level Project Overview:
Support Project Managers as a Cost Analyst for multi-million dollar capital projects.
Preferred Years of Experience:
Open to candidates with a bachelor’s degree, regardless of experience level.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree.
Additional education in Accounting, Business, Finance, Construction Management, or related fields such as Nuclear, Construction, Manufacturing, Utility, Finance, or Cost Controls.
