Overview
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Gift Planning, the Director of Trust and Estate Administration provides leadership for the administration of the university’s gift planning effort. The Director is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing efforts that provide outstanding customer service to donors funding life income gifts and gifts of complex assets, and that support the efforts of gift planning officers to secure new gifts. Working in close coordination with the Virginia Tech Foundation, the Director monitors the program’s interests in matured estates and trusts, and supports the Foundation’s efforts to protect its interests in such gifts. The Director will also work with the Foundation to support its efforts to monitor its interests in all life income gifts (including those it does not administer) and in other non-cash gifts, as well its efforts to administer the Virginia Tech Foundation Donor-advised Fund. The Director must have the ability and willingness to travel regionally and nationally when required, utilizing standard, commercial, and/or personal modes of transportation. Additionally, the ability to work nights and weekends, and participate in college or university programs when possible is required.
