Job Description
We are transforming our Global Procurement function to be a value creator. The journey to evolve from a support function to a competitive advantage relies on our talent as our biggest asset. As Category Manager North America, you will enhance total value procured from the Indirect supply base by leading standardization and consolidation across Avery Dennison businesses in North America. You will investigate developments in Indirect Materials & Services and make recommendations to reduce costs and improve quality. You will negotiate commercial terms and implement procurement agreements with suppliers. This role is focused on delivering business results in supply assurance, cost, quality, service and innovation. Indirect Procurement Categories include Facilities Management, Utilities, MRO, Packaging, Travel, Professional Services, Capital Equipment, HR Services, Freight, IT and Marketing. This position may be assigned Packaging and/or other categories or projects and reports to the NA Regional Procurement Leader.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize Total Cost of Ownership for assigned categories, aligned with global Procurement goals.
Lead the sourcing process for assigned categories, including RFP/RFI development, supplier selection, competitive bidding, and contract negotiations.
Identify and deliver cost savings targets for North America and cross-divisional indirect categories.
Coordinate regional and multi-site procurement activities to consolidate indirect spend and improve leverage.
Partner with internal customers to implement best practices and operational efficiencies.
Aggressively manage supplier base across category areas.
Leverage indirect spend across North America and collaborate with Global Category leads on strategies.
Implement cost reduction initiatives and best practices across North America.
Lead North American supplier negotiations and contract execution.
Categorize spend data to support procurement strategies and coordinate multi-site / local unit processes.
Track and report savings and support procure-to-pay improvements within the category area.
Develop strategies to improve working capital and measure supplier performance with cross-divisional teams.
Analyze suppliers and markets to identify trends and opportunities.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Engineering. An MBA is good to have.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years experience in Indirect Procurement.
Skills & Competencies
Strong negotiation, strategic thinking, commercial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and diverse teams.
In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices and industry trends in indirect procurement.
Self-starter with ability to drive projects from initiation to conclusion and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Presentation experience and skills; proficient in Google Workspace; Ariba experience is a plus.
Proven ability to lead change toward centralized processes; highly motivated with strong teamwork skills.

Where you’ll work: Mentor, Ohio (30 Minutes East of Cleveland)
Salary & Additional Information
The salary range for this position is $101,250 - $135,000 per year. The base salary range is a reasonable expectation for this role as of the posting date; actual salaries vary based on factors including relevant skills, experience, education, location, and job scope. Avery Dennison reserves the right to modify this information at any time, subject to applicable law.
