Overview
Avery Dennison Materials Group North America is composed of 4 main businesses; Label and Packaging Materials, Graphics Solutions, Reflective Solutions, and the Performance Tapes businesses. The Procurement Manager - Chemicals is responsible for setting and implementing the procurement strategy for the Chemical category within North America. The role will focus on ensuring competitiveness and value creation within the regional procurement spend while driving the 5 levers strategic plan that will enable spend and category optimization. This position will be based out of Avery Dennison’s corporate headquarters in Mentor, Ohio and reports directly to the Procurement Director of Chemical and Films. Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Lead and implement Project Nova initiatives within assigned business. Drive the functional transformation in sync with our Avery Dennison Plan to Win, our Material Groups Global Strategy and the 5 Levers Strategic Plan. Supplier Relationship Management: Manage supplier relationships and drive quarterly business reviews, enabling holistic performance conversations. Deliver the latest thinking and best practices in strategic sourcing, cost modeling, supplier relationship development, and total cost of ownership. Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement long-term strategies with Global & Regional Procurement Team and cross-functional partners to develop competitive advantage and reduce supply base risk. Creating Differentiation: Stay on the leading edge of materials trends, delivering innovation, new materials and new suppliers. Provide Market Intelligence & enable actions: Share market, competitive, geo-political intelligence to enable enterprise navigation across the supply chain. Drive Sustainability & Innovation: Work with Marketing, R&D and procurement to determine future sourcing needs and develop sourcing plans. Drive Fundamentals: Ensure value stream analyses, supplier roadmaps and cost models are robust; liaise with regional and global teams to manage supply risk and identify new sources of supply aligned with strategy. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required 7+ years purchasing or related experience with supervision and leadership experience Market/application/product knowledge of the labels industry is a plus Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills Proven vendor selection and negotiation skills with strong business acumen Relationship builder; strategic planning and project execution Digital mindset; innovative and sustainable thinker Experience leading complex RFx, supplier negotiations and contract development Leadership, mentoring, training and project management experience Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (
Compensation & Additional Information
The salary range for this position is $123,225 - $164,300 per year. The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range based on factors including candidate skills, experience, education and training, location, job scope and travel requirements.
