Plant Manager
to anchor operations at the core of our production engine. This is more than a job. It’s an opportunity to build a facility that sets the standard for safety, quality, delivery, and cost—what we call
SQDC —while making a real environmental impact.
Responsibilities
Lead all plant operations across production, maintenance, safety, and logistics.
Drive execution of SQDC: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Serve as a key member of the executive team, providing insight into plant performance and operational strategy.
Manage plant P&L, optimize throughput, reduce waste, and ensure plant-level KPIs are met or exceeded.
Team Development & Accountability
Build and lead a cross-functional team.
Foster a high-performance culture rooted in ownership, urgency, and continuous improvement.
Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and development planning for all plant staff.
Process Improvement & Standardization
Identify bottlenecks and lead structured problem-solving (root cause, 5 Whys, fishbone, etc.).
Implement standard work, visual management, and lean practices throughout the facility.
Support QMS adoption in partnership with the Director of Organizational Excellence.
Oversee shift structures and resource planning to maximize uptime and flexibility.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with OSHA, wastewater discharge regulations, and all environmental standards.
Champion the rollout of a formal safety program and culture shift to proactive risk management.
Partner with fractional safety leadership to embed systems, training, and metrics.
Asset Stewardship
Oversee preventative and predictive maintenance to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
Evaluate major capital upgrades and support the CFO in building ROI models for investments.
Coordinate with transportation for waste output, inbound feedstock, and finished product shipment via truck and rail.
Qualifications
10+ years leadership experience in operations leadership, preferably in manufacturing, energy, logistics, or waste services.
Experience managing a complex, asset-heavy facility. Professional Engineering (PE) license or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and performance management systems.
Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and build structure in a fast-paced environment.
Expertise in SQDC, lean manufacturing, and operational KPIs.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with executives and front-line staff alike.
