Manager, Purchasing (Lab)

DeLand, FL - Hybrid: 2 days onsite and 3 days home each week Employment Type:
Full-time Leads the day-to-day operations of the purchasing and supplies department at DaVita Labs. Manages procurement and inventory control processes, builds and maintains vendor relationships, and oversees departmental budgets. Ensures compliance with DaVita’s quality and purchasing standards while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team. Key Responsibilities
Oversee procurement, inventory control, and vendor management Forecast procurement needs; analyze data and create reports Manage departmental budgets and financial performance Negotiate service contracts and track compliance/documentation Develop and implement purchasing SOPs and best practices Manage and approve online purchase requisitions Provide leadership and development for purchasing team Coordinate with legal and leadership on vendor contract lifecycle Monitor purchasing performance metrics and KPIs Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to leadership Ensure regulatory and policy compliance (OSHA, Medicare, etc.) Support internal and external customers with supply needs Vet, audit, and evaluate vendors for performance and compliance Oversee disposal of surplus inventory and materials Must-Have Qualifications
5+ years of experience in purchasing or contracting Bachelor’s degree in a related field Strong leadership and team development skills Ability to work cross-functionally across teams and with vendors Understanding of wage/hour, federal, state, and local employment laws Required Skills
Procurement and inventory control Vendor relationship management Budget and contract management Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Experience with MRP systems and purchasing practices Preferred Skills
Experience in a clinical laboratory or healthcare environment Familiarity with kidney care is a plus Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Proficiency in Microsoft SQL and Crystal Reporting
