This internal position is available to current faculty within the Department of Large Animal Medicine or the Department of Population Health (Production Medicine Service). The Assistant Hospital Director (AHD-LA) supports the Hospital Director in managing the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH), focusing on operational, financial, and strategic aspects, primarily working with the Large Animal Inpatient and Field Services Sections. Minimum Qualifications
Terminal degree in the discipline Licensed veterinarian in good standing practicing on a VTH clinical service Preferred Qualifications
Enthusiasm for supporting the success of the VTH and its personnel Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Patient care and customer service orientation Responsibilities
Faculty and House Officer Support:
Mentor, support, and communicate with clinicians and faculty, facilitate professional development, and participate in faculty recruitment and evaluation. Patient Safety and Quality Assurance:
Ensure high-quality patient care, coordinate case reviews, and improve operational workflows and compliance with regulatory standards. VTH Leadership:
Contribute to strategic planning, financial management, and participate in leadership meetings and committees, including acting as the HD when necessary. Additional Requirements
Good standing faculty member in the specified departments Licensed veterinarian practicing on clinical service Other Details
This position involves direct interaction with children under 18 and access to security-sensitive information and materials. A background check and credit check will be required.
