Overview

Manager, Private Client Services (Family Office) at Alvarez & Marsal (A&M). Responsibilities

Provide accounting and support services for multiple clients, including: review and oversight of accounting processes (posting transactions to the general ledger, maintaining the general ledger, posting journal entries, coordinating monthly close, and preparing financial reports) Oversee and manage accounting functions for specific families (accounts payable, ensuring accurate, authorized invoices and timely payments) Review and analyze financial information to prepare entries for accounts and document business transactions Manage and reconcile bank accounts Reconcile various expenses and intercompany accounts Prepare monthly/quarterly financial packages for clients with related work papers Assist in preparation of annual tax package and supporting documents Establish, modify, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting and control procedures Develop trusted relationships with clients to gather project information and resolve issues Conduct day-to-day management of accounts to ensure timely and accurate work product Supervise, mentor, and motivate Associates and Senior Associates; provide on-the-job training, performance feedback, counseling, and foster a team-based atmosphere Manage workload and deadlines for Associates and Senior Associates with focus on quality, efficiency, and project effectiveness Manage client calls to understand critical areas and apply tax technical knowledge to client situations Create deliverables that are concise and address client-critical elements Clearly communicate work plan, project objectives, and timelines to multidisciplinary project teams Encourage open expression of ideas and perspectives Build client relationships and demonstrate working knowledge of client businesses; opportunity to assume additional responsibility quickly Assist with business development, including adding-on work by creating business development resources and proposal materials Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 4+ years of relevant experience; Private Client Services/Family Office/High Net Worth accounting experience strongly preferred CPA or Licensed Attorney High level of integrity and respect for the confidential nature of Private Client Services information Proven experience leading and managing work streams and mentoring junior staff Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts, establish credibility and influence clients Strong research, writing, and analytical skills Advanced user of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel) Strong knowledge and experience in QuickBooks Ability to manage several projects and deadlines simultaneously High motivation to learn and grow Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills BI-lingual a plus Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $110,000 – $140,000 annually, dependent on education, experience, skills, and geography. Eligible for discretionary bonus. Regular employees may participate in healthcare plans, FSAs, life, AD&D, and disability coverages, and a 401(k) plan with possible discretionary contributions.
