The Maintenance Technician II will help lead a team to provide a safe and well-maintained store environment for Nordstrom customers and employees. This role supports the Facility Manager (FM) to ensure stores are ready for business daily. Key responsibilities include: Ensuring HVAC, Vertical Transportation, Restaurants, Entries and Signs, and Building Systems are operational for the day Responding to daily break-fix and on-demand requests, troubleshooting, and delegating workorders to team members Communicating with Store Leadership, supporting vendor relations, and handling administrative tasks like ordering parts and setting up meetings As a lead technician, you will support repairs and maintenance across multiple Nordstrom stores and Rack locations, mentoring other technicians to grow their skills. A Day in the Life
Lead and perform preventive maintenance on critical and non-critical equipment Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues related to store operations Operate and monitor building controls and systems, troubleshoot alarms, and report malfunctions Perform manual tasks such as loading and moving materials Assist with administrative tasks, vendor management, and attend meetings Promote safety and act as a safety champion Document maintenance activities and mentor technicians Respond to emergencies and update maintenance records Coordinate with outside contractors and ensure compliance with safety regulations Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED; higher education preferred 5-7 years of hands-on facilities experience, especially in mechanical maintenance Experience with HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs Strong troubleshooting skills, including low voltage and logical devices Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CMMS (e.g., Coupa), and knowledge of networking systems Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and off-hours Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and perform manual labor tasks Benefits
