Job Description
JOB SUMMARY The Maintenance Technician II will lead a team to ensure a safe and well-maintained store environment for Nordstrom customers and employees. Support the Facility Manager (FM) in preparing stores for daily operations. Key responsibilities include: Ensuring HVAC, Vertical Transportation, Restaurants, Entries and Signs, and Building Systems are operational for the day's business Responding to daily repair requests, troubleshooting, and delegating work orders Communicating with Store Leadership, supporting vendor relations, and handling administrative tasks such as ordering parts and scheduling meetings As a lead technician, you will repair and maintain building equipment and systems, mentor other technicians, and support multiple Nordstrom Stores and Nordstrom Rack locations within a business node. A day in the life… Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on equipment Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues Operate building controls and monitor systems Manage alarms and system operations via EMCS Conduct rounds, identify malfunctions, and report issues Perform manual tasks such as lifting and material handling Handle administrative duties including parts ordering and vendor management Follow safety procedures and act as safety champion Represent the facilities team in meetings and document outcomes Complete maintenance routines and mentor technicians Assist with technical training for new employees Respond to emergencies Update CMMS and manage parts inventory Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and property managers Comply with safety and building codes Qualifications High School Diploma/GED; higher education preferred 5-7 years of hands-on facilities experience, especially mechanical maintenance Experience with predictive and preventive maintenance Skills in HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs Troubleshooting skills including low voltage and logical devices Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Effective communication skills Self-motivated with a customer-focused approach Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS systems (e.g., Coupa) Knowledge of computer networks and electromechanical systems Project management experience is a plus Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and off-hours Physical Requirements Ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb, and lift/carry loads over 50 lbs.
