Liebherr USA The Electrical Engineer (EE) researches, develops, designs and tests electrical components and systems for use in mining equipment. In addition to the technical aspects, the engineer also effectively communicates and collaborates with a wide variety of other positions in the performance of the job. Responsibilities

Electrical Engineer 1: Assists engineers with researching electrical/electronic components & systems for use in production, or replacing obsolete field parts; works with Engineers and assists Designer/Drafters in developing the electrical design of products using drafting tools or CAD or other software; assists in maintaining and/or creating electrical schematics; creates technical instructions for field modifications or testing requests; works with the production line assemblers to assure issue free assemblies; manipulates engineering BOM and data in the MRP system and EDM systems; works independently and as a team member on ad hoc projects; researches, designs, installs, tests, analyzes, and maintains electrical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements; interacts with vendors and internal customers to collaborate on projects and tasks. Electrical Engineer 2: All duties of EE1, plus: reviews customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements; confers with engineers to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information; investigates equipment failures and diagnoses faulty operation; acts with and understands electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, wire tables and manuals; researches and tests vendor products; provides input to designers/drafters; develops and oversees installation, testing, and maintenance procedures; proposes technical mods; creates and maintains electrical schematics using CAD software; evaluates design change requests. Electrical Engineer 3: All duties of EE2, plus: proactively sets work schedules and tracks performance; communicates project status to cross-functional team members; maintains department standards; researches industry standards and performs GAP analysis; compiles Work Breakdown Structures and manages tasks; leads DFMEA and ensures release packages meet quality and content standards; understands haul truck architecture and system interactions; creates and modifies logic specifications for new and existing functions. Electrical Engineer 4 (Senior): All duties of EE3, plus: trains and mentors engineers; reviews work output for design intent and adequacy of documentation; analyzes customer design proposals; reviews and approves designs of electrical components; considers cost targets and reliability in strategic direction; makes big-picture decisions and communicates results; manages project tasks and aligns with company goals. Education and Experience

Electrical Engineer 1: MS or BSEE/EET or ASEE with 10 years of relevant electrical experience; familiarity with drafting tools/CAD; ability to read technical manuals; basic electrical equations; proficiency in MS Office; ability to communicate with a cross-functional audience. Electrical Engineer 2: MS with 1 year or BSEE/EET with 2 years of relevant experience; proficiency in latest schematic software; cost analysis experience; ability to lead discussions; knowledge of haul truck operation and mine experience; strong technical writing and problem-solving skills. Electrical Engineer 3: MS with 4–6 years or BSEE/EET with 6–8 years; ability to manage resources and projects; customer/problem-resolution skills; root cause analysis; MS Project proficiency; lead design reviews. Electrical Engineer 4 (Senior): MS with 6–8 years or BSEE/EET with 8–10 years; leadership of others in technical direction; SME in electrical area; strategic design oversight and collaboration with broader company goals. Additional Requirements

Travel nationally and internationally up to 20% to customer or supplier sites. Maintain mine certifications or safety training such as MSHA hazard training. Maintain valid driver’s license and passport. Our Offer
