fully proficient , capable of executing a full range of responsibilities across assigned areas. Able to operate across existing and adjacent technologies, contributing to new-to-market or Amcor technologies. Known as a
"person to ask"
for troubleshooting complex challenges. Influences decision-making, sometimes beyond core areas, providing technical and product support across multiple products and processes, often involving key customers. WHAT YOU GET TO DO
Leverage understanding of customer needs and Amcor capabilities to design, develop, and implement products and processes rapidly. Represent the company's technical voice by leading discussions with customers on new developments. Stay informed about relevant technological changes and trends impacting Amcor. Drive critical quality specifications. Share and teach problem-solving skills and methodologies, such as Technical Research, Technical Library, Networking. Lead programs through stage-gate processes to support start-ups and product launches. Plan, execute, and analyze production trials using Design of Experiment, Lean, and statistical analysis methodologies. Ensure proper documentation of work and contribute to the knowledge library—avoid reinventing existing solutions. Protect Amcor's Intellectual Property while meeting stakeholder needs with appropriate information sharing. Develop and train others on standard procedures to enhance operations. Utilize foundational understanding of material/polymer properties and equipment capabilities to meet customer needs. Influence and connect cross-functional business processes to improve organizational performance, participating in a globally connected technical community. Provide expertise and share knowledge to enhance organizational capabilities. Lead technical process developments and improvements to generate new technology and value. Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Quality to resolve technical challenges, supporting sustained solutions, including inputs on machine installations or upgrades and new capital projects. Undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Polymer Science preferred. 10+ years of technical experience, ideally in manufacturing R&D or process roles across multiple technical processes. Experience with Polypropylene, packaging development, thermoforming packaging, Tilt Bed, Flat Bed, Melt to Mold, and plastic material knowledge is advantageous. Proven ability to leverage design choices to positively impact market position. Experience leading product and process development projects with sustained results. Ability to synthesize information from various inputs and apply it to business results. Expertise in multiple technologies/processes to deliver organizational value and foster business relationships. Proficiency with Project Management, Design of Experiments, Lean Principles, and Statistical Analysis tools. Ability to lead specialized projects within teams. Experience managing key/national account customer relationships from a technical perspective and scaling up with customer growth. Strong conceptual judgment, even with limited precedence.
