About the Role
The Safety Manager will oversee and strengthen the company’s safety and compliance programs, ensuring that all project activities align with regulatory requirements and client expectations. This role plays a key part in promoting a proactive safety culture, supporting project teams, and maintaining a safe work environment across all job sites. The Safety Manager will work closely with leadership, field personnel, and clients to uphold high safety standards and consistent program execution.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs in alignment with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
Champion a culture of safety awareness, engagement, and accountability throughout the organization.
Conduct routine jobsite inspections, audits, and hazard assessments; ensure prompt resolution of identified risks.
Lead and enforce compliance with all key safety procedures including fall protection, confined space entry, PPE standards, and Lockout/Tagout.
Oversee all incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action follow-ups.
Deliver and coordinate effective safety training for field staff, project teams, and subcontractors.
Maintain accurate safety documentation, manuals, and compliance records; update policies as regulations or client requirements evolve.
Serve as the liaison for client-specific safety programs, ensuring project setups, documentation, and reporting meet expectations.
Monitor and report key safety performance metrics, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
Manage environmental compliance elements such as stormwater management, waste handling, spill prevention, and air quality controls.
Advise leadership on evolving safety regulations, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, occupational safety, or a related field preferred.
5+ years of leadership experience in construction safety and compliance.
Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, construction industry safety regulations, and best practices.
Proven ability to influence and coach teams at all levels within an organization.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with large-scale compliance programs or national clients preferred.
Flexible and able to travel frequently (approximately 3–4 days per week).
Certifications
OSHA 30-Hour Certification (required)
OSHA 510, 500, CHST, or CSP certifications (preferred)
Valid driver’s license
Ability to obtain client-specific safety certifications within 30 days of hire
