Job Summary: The
Senior Business Process Reengineer
supports the
Department of Education’s Office of Educational Supports (OES)
in improving and maintaining the
Consolidated Application
within the
NexSys platform , a critical system for distributing federal formula grants to Local Education Agencies (LEAs). This role acts as a strategic liaison across business and technical teams to ensure streamlined processes, compliance, and system functionality.
Process Analysis & Improvement:
Review and document existing grant-related business processes and workflows.
Identify opportunities for
process optimization
and recommend best-practice improvements.
Analyze federal policy changes and provide OES with guidance on necessary application updates.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
Facilitate meetings with internal teams, field consultants, and external partners.
Serve as the
primary point of contact
for field consultants on application-related issues.
Communicate project updates, resolutions, and timelines to stakeholders.
Operational & Technical Liaison:
Manage and prioritize operational support requests and enhancement tickets within
Azure DevOps .
Collaborate with technical teams (OSET, DTMB, and vendors) to ensure timely issue resolution.
Translate business needs into clear, actionable
technical requirements .
Leadership & Team Coordination:
Lead and mentor a team of business analysts.
Facilitate requirement-gathering sessions to align project goals and deliverables.
Ensure consistent communication and coordination across project teams.
Documentation & Knowledge Management:
Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation on
SharePoint .
Ensure decisions and process updates are properly tracked for reference and compliance.
Required Experience:
Proven experience in
business process reengineering
or
business analysis .
Strong knowledge of the
software development lifecycle (SDLC) .
Experience leading teams in cross-functional or government program settings.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
Experience with
grant management systems
or federally funded programs.
Prior work within government or education environments.
Required Skills:
