Overview
Quality Engineer 2 at Safran Ventilation Systems. Location: Everett, Washington, United States. Permanent, full-time role requiring a Bachelor’s degree and more than 5 years of experience in quality within aerospace. This role focuses on production quality, supplier quality, and resolving technical issues to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
Product Development and Product Change: Incorporate Design for Quality and effective quality assurance methods into the new product introduction process. Work closely with Product Development Team on new product launches. Ensure customer requirements and expectations are accurately identified in product specifications. Review quality control requirements with the customer representative, assuring compliance with requirements. Review and approve or reject engineering documents, drawings, and data from a product quality engineering perspective. Review and approve or reject Engineering Change Requests (ECRs); actively participate in the Change Review Board (CRB) and support Configuration Management for new and existing programs. Conduct PFMEA to identify possible failures in the assembly process. Production Quality: Manage quality control processes and metrics for in-process and final inspection of materials and products. Identify and recommend CAPA to reduce non-conformities. Analyze non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions. Perform Escape management procedures (RCA) and recommend CAPA for design and manufacturing problems. Report quality performance, address repeating issues, drive First Article Inspection (FAI), maintain and improve product quality through audits and work instruction approvals. Focus on process standardization and controls to improve internal and external customer satisfaction. Quality Culture & Continuous Improvement: Ensure quality processes are incorporated into the product life cycle. Support Lean and Six Sigma strategies on the production line. Conduct internal audits and support external audits as needed. Leadership: Foster collaboration across Manufacturing, Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service, and other functions to develop product quality. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in engineering or equivalent in related fields; typically 3-4 years of quality experience. Requirements: 5+ years of experience in Aerospace Commercial or Military; knowledge of quality system methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Pareto, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFMEA, FAI, etc.); 3+ years in Root Cause Analysis; 3+ years in Product Development Process; 3+ years in Configuration Management; Proficiency in MS Office; ERP software, Power BI and CAD software desirable; auditing experience and Manufacturing Engineering experience preferred.
