Overview
The responsibility of the Quality Manager is to lead the Quality Department, inclusive of Quality Assurance and Quality Control, and is responsible for the development, deployment and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) at the site level. Responsibilities
Lead the Quality Department, inclusive of Quality Assurance and Quality Control Accountable for maintenance and continuous improvement of the QMS Monitor key performance indicators to report on the effectiveness of the QMS Maintain applicable industry and regulatory certifications, e.g. AS9100, NADCAP Manage and conduct an effective internal QMS audit program Coordinate customer quality audits and timely responses Manage third party compliance audits of our quality management system Determine root cause of quality issues and drive effective corrective action Participate in the design review and production readiness review processes Accountable for Receiving, In-process and Final product quality inspections Maintain all quality inspection equipment, inclusive of all calibration requirements Analyze company processes and procedures Develop and monitor improvement processes within the organization using multiple strategies such as Six Sigma and TQM Lead short-term and long-term strategic projects to lower overall production costs using LEAN manufacturing principles Define Continuous Improvement team communication strategy, sharing successes and engaging the team to learn about Continuous Improvement methodologies Training, mentoring and guiding team members in Continuous Improvement projects such as Green Belt, PDCA and One Safran workshops Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or 10 years' equivalent experience in manufacturing Experience:
Minimum 6-10 years, with minimum equivalent experience in manufacturing and 5 years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment Computer Skills:
Basic knowledge Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Other Skills:
Quality Assurance experience in the aerospace industry including AS9100 and FAA PMA / Repair Station experience; aerospace and product quality knowledge; strong communication (verbal, written, presentations); structured problem solving (root cause analysis and defect reduction); strategic planning, resource allocation and employee development Additional Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
Six Sigma Black Belt Certification; Certified Manager of Quality; experience leading quality/technical organizations; experience in electro-mechanical design & manufacturing environment Company Information
