Sustainability Project Engineer
Location: Elgin, Illinois (Relocation Assistance Available)
About this position;
The Sr. Sustainability Project Engineer is responsible for evaluation, development, designing, and execution of projects to reduce energy, water, and utility usage along with waste generation in North America.
This position will play a key role in achieving the company s Sustainability 2030 Targets zero CO2 emissions from operations, zero waste water discharge, and zero production waste.
What You Ll Do
Development of project scopes, project planning, preparation of cost estimates, feasibility studies and reports, management of budgets and schedules, project management, supervision of contractors, oversight of equipment installation, and equipment start-up and commissioning.
Capable of collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to assess impacts of projects on the natural and built environment.
Travel up to 40% of the time to company locations in North America.
Education & Requirements
A bachelor s degree in engineering, or a related field is required.
5 years of experience in developing, managing, and executing capital projects in chemical manufacturing.
Experience in capital project management with regards to sustainability or utility infrastructure is a plus.
Must have experience preparing engineering project-specific and program-wide sustainability plans.
Must have the ability to interpret and synthesize information from multiple sources in the context of technical, regulatory, and other requirements.
Must have the ability to manage the demands of multiple projects at various stages simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively within and outside of the engineering department.
Must have excellent troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations is required.
Advanced-level of Lean principles such as 5S, TPM, Root-Cause Analysis is highly desired.
Must be able to work with and around hazardous materials, chemicals, and equipment. Experience with SAP is a plus Seniority level
