Responsibilities
Design and specification of power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage specialty systems.
Provide technical leadership to junior staff.
Interface with code officials and contractors, working with architects and clients, and working with other engineering disciplines.
Provide technical guidance and training/mentoring for lighting design for the office’s Healthcare and Building Services groups.
Lead the Lighting Focus Group and provide lighting presentations and trainings for the office.
Required Skills & Required Experience
Two-year degree.
Lighting Certified (LC) Professional.
Certified Lighting Energy Professional (CLEP).
Minimum 10-15 years directly applicable to healthcare design experience required.
5 to 10 years of direct lighting design experience including site lighting, building lighting, specialty architectural lighting, lighting controls, and photometric analysis utilizing lighting design software required.
Experience in facility condition assessments for lighting systems including evaluation of existing conditions, replacement recommendations, energy and economic payback analysis required.
Proficiency with lighting design software such as AGi32 and Visual.
Proficiency with AutoCAD/Revit.
Must have the ability to generate big-picture ideas and solutions at the beginning stage of projects.
Excellent oral and written communication skills including experience in dealing with other employees and external clients.
Some local travel will be required for field investigations.
Interpreting engineering specifications and investigating problems.
Coordinating work schedules and preparing progress reports.
Construction cost estimation experience is a plus.
