Stamping Tool Room Manager
to lead tooling operations in a fast-paced automotive environment. This role requires a hands-on leader and change agent who can think outside the box, drive improvements, and ensure seamless collaboration with other departments. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in transfer and progressive die repair, tool room management, and IATF 16949 standards while leading a team to achieve excellence in quality, efficiency, and safety. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all tool room activities, collaborating with managers and departments to resolve die- and tooling-related issues. Oversee the repair and troubleshooting of presses, transfer dies, and progressive dies. Manage die tear-downs, repairs, and maintenance tasks. Organize priorities, assign activities, and oversee execution in the tooling area. Develop and execute maintenance and tool improvement plans. Track tooling performance indicators and establish improvement programs focused on reducing downtime, scrap, and overtime. Establish and maintain maintenance routines for all dies. Train toolmakers on maintenance and support new projects, drawing checks, and technical updates. Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, lead 5S initiatives, and prepare for audits. Coordinate manpower planning, die protection programs, and enforce quality standards at 100%. Monitor production plans, align tool room priorities, and implement engineering changes. Qualifications
7–10 years of experience in stamping and tool room management. Strong expertise in repair and adjustment of transfer and progressive dies. Proven leadership in overseeing multiple plants and managing cross-functional collaboration. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; general knowledge of computer hardware/software. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills (verbal & written). Ability to prioritize, work independently, and drive results in a high-pressure environment. Hands-on, detail-oriented leader with a service and team-oriented mindset. Company Description
