SCHEDULE / REMOTE FLEXIBILITY : on site 2 days per week. however, could possibly explore remote for the right candidate (come to Newark only 1x per month)
WORK HOURS : 9-5pm, 30min lunch, or 9-5 : 30, 1hr lunch
HOURS PER WEEK : 37.5
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT : None. Background in Customs Compliance, supply chain management, logistics, international trade, or a related field is preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT : College or minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, import / export operations, or a similar role within a fast-paced corporate environment.
PREFERRED INTERVIEW TIMES : Tues-Wed, we are on site.

Manager notes
Actively monitor compliance and logistics-related activities, identifying and resolving issues under the manager's guidance, to maintain the uninterrupted flow of goods and information.
Serve as a point of contact for logistics inquiries, collaborating closely with internal teams, carriers, brokers, and vendors to ensure resolutions are timely and effective.
Utilize a variety of logistics and tracking portals to monitor shipments, update stakeholders, and document exceptions or delays.
Capable of identifying and proposing process improvements to optimize daily workflows and strengthen supply chain resilience.
Position Overview
The Customs Compliance Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our company's supply chain network. This position is responsible for supporting daily Customs compliance operations, with a special focus on US and Canadian imports and exports, duty accruals and payments, and exceptional recordkeeping. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational and analytical skills, accuracy in recording information, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to proactively monitor Customs compliance-related challenges as they arise, ensuring seamless operations across the supply chain. Being able to quickly adjust to dynamic Customs compliance requirements is strongly desired.

Qualifications
Background in Customs Compliance, supply chain management, logistics, international trade, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, import / export operations, or a similar role within a fast-paced corporate environment.
Understanding of customs regulations, and compliance requirements for both US and Canadian markets.
Experience with Brokers\'s, US and Canadian Customs portals (ACE, CARM, FedEx, UPS) and technical aptitude for digital recordkeeping and reporting systems.
Exceptional organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
Proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving, with effective communication skills for coordination with global teams, brokers, and vendors.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all aspects of logistical data management and compliance.

Monitor exceptions and daily holds PLSA
Monitor / maintain ISF filing info for ocean shipments
Update brokerage billing information (from PLSA, FED EX, UPS portals)
Track and trace where / when needed
Duty Accruals / Payments Support (from PLSA, FED EX, UPS portals + validate information in PPNDA\'s ACE portal)
Record entry information
Add daily and monthly statement information
US Exports Support – 1 hour & 30 min
Outbound Report (from emails between the order team, warehouse, carriers, Client Export, Canadian broke)

Canadian Imports Support – 1 hour & 30 min
Inbound Report (from emails between carriers and Canadian broker's reporting + validate with reporting from PPNDA's CARM)
Record the shipments information
Monitor exceptions
Update brokerage billing information

Compensation The hourly rate for this position is between $28.00-$32.00 per hour.
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography / market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
