Sr Manager, Manufacturing Engineer Location: USA-NH-Londonderry-Akira Way Job Schedule: 9/80 – employees work 9 out of every 14 days totaling 80 hours with every other Friday off L3Harris Technologies is the Trusted Disruptor in the defense industry. The Manufacturing Engineering team supports cross-functional programs with vision, technology, and expertise required for a successful production process. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will coordinate work and provide technical guidance to manufacturing engineers across multiple program lines, collaborating with program management, product design engineering, manufacturing engineering, and operations management on continuous improvement and root cause corrective action initiatives. The manager will lead projects related to product design and manufacturing processing to advance manufacturing technologies at L3Harris. Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering, lead a team of engineering professionals, directing and evaluating engineering activities Coach and mentor the manufacturing engineering team with a hands-on approach Adopt cutting edge technologies such as automation and additive manufacturing, including design software, manufacturing equipment, and materials Drive and implement initiatives within the team and broader manufacturing engineering organization (Lean, Visual Factory, RCCA, NPI process) Guide the standup of a preventative maintenance program and team responsible for planning and executing factory maintenance activities Oversee a team monitoring daily Manufacturing Execution System (MES) performance; lead selection and implementation of a new MES system for the floor Provide leadership to the materials team to improve use of chemicals and epoxies in product designs and manufacturing Lead root cause analysis for manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, production) to ensure manufacturability and alignment with business objectives Provide technical leadership and mentorship to early career professionals Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and quality to integrate design and process integrity processes such as xFMEAs and SPC Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of related experience, or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years; in lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of related experience Preferred Additional Skills
Broad management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project teams Experience leading teams in a high-performing organization Manufacturing experience of complex electronics, optics and/or electro-mechanical assemblies Experience deploying new manufacturing technologies and new product development Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams and drive organizational change Experience/certification in Lean, Six Sigma, mistake-proofing, and problem solving Strong leadership integrity, openness, compliance, and honesty in business interactions L3Harris Technologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
