Location The position will be located at Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector in El Segundo, CA; Redondo Beach, CA; Palmdale, CA; or Rancho Bernardo, CA.

Duties

Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

Plan and execute schedules for engineering design package development and release to meet mission needs.

Provide technical impact assessment, planning and strategy for change implementation.

Gather data, develop requirements, interface with suppliers, and perform basic stress and tolerance analysis.

Act as manufacturing liaison during the build process of projects to ensure overall quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

Develop test plans and perform environmental testing of Support Equipment; test and integrate manufactured Support Equipment.

Demonstrate basic knowledge of mechanical design tools and drafting, including solid modeling techniques (NX, Pro/Engineer, or CATIA).

Position Type This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Product Support Engineer (T01) or Product Support Engineer (T02).

Basic Qualifications Associate Product Support Engineer (T01)

Be completing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Major in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math).

Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite) and Program Special Access as required.

Experience with 3D modeling tools.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

Product Support Engineer (T02)

Be completing or have completed a Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.

Major in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math).

Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance and Program Special Access as required.

Experience with CATIA and familiarity with the TeamCenter release tool.

Understand all aspects of equipment development, including concept and detailed design, CAD modeling, documentation release, fabrication, integration, and testing.

Experience with engineering, manufacturing, and development life cycle.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

Preferred Qualifications

Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher.

Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork, interpersonal communication, and involvement in professional/community activities.

Knowledge of aircraft maintenance and Support Equipment.

Consider design factors such as contractual, environmental, cost, schedule, technical performance, system integration, producibility, interchangeability, and material requirements during development and program execution.

Ability to understand engineering challenges and coordinate with NG Engineering to identify engineering solutions for support equipment.

Ability to decompose complex technical challenges into chart packages for program management and leadership briefings.

Experience with JIRA, CPLM, or other configuration management tools.

Excellent technical writing and communication skills.

Pay Range

Associate Product Support Engineer: $67,400.00 - $101,000.00

Product Support Engineer: $81,300.00 - $121,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
