Arcadis is seeking an experienced Civil / Environmental Engineer to join our Design Engineering team. This is a remote flexible opportunity. The candidate selected for this role can be based out of any Arcadis office in the East. As a Civil / Environmental Engineer, you will support a growing base of complex mining, reclamation, restoration, and development projects throughout North America, and serve as a mentor to junior staff. This role is primarily office based with opportunity for project-related travel (e.g., site visits, meetings). Role accountabilities

Work with project managers and senior team members to develop civil engineering designs. Analyze documentation including technical reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs to understand geotechnical properties, terrain, hydrologic and hydraulic characteristics, and other data necessary to support civil design development. Review applicable regulations, permitting requirements, and standards. Develop civil engineering designs on projects of varying complexity based on interpretation of data and regulatory constraints. Use 3D design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar) to develop grading plans, perform drainage layouts, optimize earthwork designs, and perform quantity calculations. Oversee drawing production/drafting (with the ability to assist with drafting if required). Provide office-based construction support after design completion, including contractor assistance (e.g., responding to RFIs), technical submittal review, and implementing real-time design changes based on field conditions. Hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations; preparation of technical reports and specifications; design of stormwater best management practices (e.g., infiltration basins, bioretention areas, filters) and erosion and sediment control plans; mentoring and delegating tasks to junior team members. Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline. Minimum 4 years of experience. Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) certification. Proficiency with 3D civil site design using AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar. Proficiency with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, SWMM, or similar). Preferred Qualifications: Professional Engineer (P.E.) License. Minimum of 7 years of experience. Proficiency with hydraulic river modeling applications (e.g., HEC-RAS). Why Arcadis?

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $125,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
