Join the Electrification & Energy Solutions team focused on advancing battery systems for next-generation machinery. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer Level 3 to support the validation and testing of battery systems as part of our product development pipeline. This role is ideal for hands-on engineers with a passion for energy storage, electrical systems, and testing in a collaborative lab environment.
Responsibilities
Support and execute battery validation and test plans in Peoria-area labs. Coordinate with external battery test facilities for remote testing, which includes occasional travel (under 25%). Set up and conduct electrical system tests on medium- to high-voltage systems. Analyze and review test data to provide actionable insights to internal design teams. Assist with applying and interpreting battery validation standards such as IEC, ISO, UL. Contribute to the development and documentation of validation test plans (DVP&R) and FMEAs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure battery systems meet quality and performance standards.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. 3–5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical or electrical system testing or validation. Hands-on experience with electrical lab setups and test execution. Knowledge or exposure to battery systems preferred, including fuel cells, inverters, switchgear, motor-generators. Familiarity with industry testing standards (IEC, UL, ISO). Strong communication and self-management skills, able to work independently and cross-functionally. Experience with DVP&R, FMEA, or other design/validation documentation methods.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in battery testing, electrical validation, or energy storage systems. Prior work with national labs or academic research in electrification. Engineers with foreign education/experience and 1–2 years of U.S. experience.

The role is based on-site. It offers an exciting opportunity to work on the front lines of electrification efforts, helping develop and validate real-world solutions that power heavy machinery and make a global impact. The position involves hands-on work with battery technology and collaboration with experts across design, validation, and systems engineering.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $41.00/hr.
