$33.00/hr - $35.00/hr Direct message the job poster from Harvey Nash Summary: The main function of a quality engineer is to research and test the design, functionality and maintenance of products, equipment, systems and processes and develop quality standards. A typical quality engineer has the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and evaluate product integrity and standards. Job Responsibilities: - Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data. - Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities. - May write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities. - May specialize in areas of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software, research and development, and administrative application. Skills: - Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability. - Team player and detail oriented. - Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports. - Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD). Education/Experience: - 2-4 years experience required. Position’s Contributions to Work Group: - Perform validation testing to identify and resolve quality issues to deliver best in class products to our customers - This position is with the Client Electrification & Energy Solutions Division in Peoria Illinois. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for ensuring successful validation testing of electrical charging power systems. Battery chargers range in power from 15kW to 2MW DC output. Input AC voltages range from 120 volts to 13.8kV. Program responsibilities will include writing validation test procedures, performing validation testing, analyzing test data, writing and presenting post test data analysis reports. Here, you can do the work that matters.” Why this Role? - Involved with latest electrification technology Typical task breakdown: - Perform hands on validation testing of low and high power battery chargers and power electronics. Author test procedures, perform data analysis of test results, author post test data analysis reports, troubleshoot, document and resolve issues Interaction with team: - Daily interactions with cross functional teams to achieve goals - Lab testing environment with multiple test engineers on site Work environment: - Office and lab environment - Lab environment includes low and medium voltage systems both AC and DC voltages are present - Can be noisy at times - Can be warm at times Team Structure - Daily interaction with direct team and cross functional teams - Team Total: 10 team members currently Education & Experience Required: - 4-year technology degree, BSME or BSEE degree. Similar technical fields will be considered - Minimum 2 years related experience - With a Master’s degree or PHd willing to consider candidates w/ 1 or more years related experience - For internships/co-ops, the experience must be directly related for consideration Technical Skills (Required) - Academic and/or industry experience analyzing the failure mechanisms of mechanical and/or electrical technology and applying problem solving to identify solution plans. - Strong technical skills and the ability/desire to continue to learn. - Self-starter that requires minimal supervision, anticipates issues, and takes appropriate action with minimal direction. - Project Management / Interpersonal Skills: Ability to effectively assemble and lead diverse teams to achieve common goals and to deliver timely results. - Experience in a test environment with power electronics, AC/DC battery chargers or similar technology - Experience with the design, risk analysis, and testing of electrification components and/or systems - Troubleshooting electrical systems - Ability to read and understand electrical schematics performing electrical connections and wiring based on schematics - Experience with use of hand tools, electrical diagnostic tools such as multi meters, amp meters, megger tester - Experience with the collection and analysis of test data using CANape Soft Skills (Required) - Solid communication skills both verbal and written - Ability to work in a team - Not able to work in a lab testing environment for long periods of time 6+ hours per day Seniority level
