Electrical Engineering Manager
On behalf of our client Niehoff Endex, we are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with a background of electrical, mechanical, and automation systems for a succession position. Niehoff Endex is a German non-ferrous wire & cable drawing machinery manufacturer for the wire and cable industries located in Swedesboro, NJ (greater Philadelphia). The Engineering Manager leads a team of 3–4 electrical and mechanical engineers, providing both strategic direction and hands-on technical support. This role requires a proactive leader who can mentor team members while actively contributing to engineering initiatives. Responsibilities
Team Leadership : Lead and mentor a team of 3 electrical and 1 mechanical engineer, ensuring effective workload coordination and technical guidance. System Design & Development : Contribute to the design and development of control systems and switchgears for coilers and wire drawing lines using AB/Rockwell technologies and SolidWorks. Project Management : Oversee full project lifecycle—from concept to delivery—ensuring quality, technical performance, and adherence to timelines. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with sales, manufacturing, and service teams to align engineering solutions with customer and operational needs. Field & Production Support : Assist with field troubleshooting, supervise switchgear testing and acceptance, and implement design changes from production. Documentation & Process Improvement : Maintain detailed design documentation and continuously improve engineering processes and standards. Qualifications & Experience
PLC Programming Expertise : Proficient in Allen Bradley/Rockwell platforms, including RSLogix 500/5000 and RSView/FactoryTalk View. Experience with at least two of the following: Siemens Step 7, Siemens TIA Portal, B+R Automation, Direct Logic, or Direct Soft. Industrial Communication Protocols : Familiar with Profinet, Ethernet/IP, DH+, and DH485. Drives & Motor Control : Strong knowledge of drive systems from Siemens, Yaskawa, ABB, Lenze, Rockwell, Parker SSD (Eurotherm), and Control Techniques. Solid understanding of AC induction, torque, and servo motors. Electrical & Mechanical Design : Capable of designing electrical control circuits and integrating them with mechanical systems. Standards & Compliance : Knowledge of NEC/CSA, UL508A, NFPA 70, NFPA 79, and NFPA 70E. CAD Proficiency : Skilled in AutoCAD Electrical for schematics and SolidWorks for mechanical drawings. Additional Skills : Basic understanding of metallurgy and metal forming, and familiarity with cost estimation. Education & Experience : Master’s degree in electronics, controls, or drives preferred, or 7–10 years of equivalent experience. Computer Skills
Proficient in MS Office and SAP; comfortable navigating various software and web applications. Ability to easily navigate multiple software and internet applications, proficient in MS Office programs, SAP Company & EEO
