Job Summary
Join Summit Fire Protection as a Fire Sprinkler Designer and apply your design expertise to create reliable fire protection systems across many projects. Essential Duties
Design automatic sprinkler systems, including fire pumps, tanks, wet, dry, pre‑action, and deluge systems using knowledge of fire sprinkler codes. Perform hydraulic calculations for each design. Prepare submittal packages for Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and coordinate correspondence to achieve design approval. Participate in contractor coordination meetings and design kick‑off meetings. Create fabrication lists for pipe fabrication vendors and requisition materials for jobs. Conduct field surveys to ensure designs are appropriate for structures. Assist field personnel with design‑related installation issues. Submit final job close‑out documents after acceptance testing. Follow SFP’s safety program, SDS book, hazardous communication program, policies, and procedures. Maintain safety documentation on every project. Attend seminars, education, and training sessions to stay current with technology, codes, and standards. Communicate professionally with internal and external customers. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required. NICET II or NICET III and/or state‑required certification required (equivalent experience considered). 1–2 years experience as a sprinkler designer required. Construction experience, mechanical aptitude, basic and advanced math skills required. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required. Must comply with SFP’s Drug and Alcohol policy and background screening requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English with employees and customers required. Computer proficiency and Microsoft Office required; familiarity with HydraCad, SprinkCAD, or other CAD software preferred. Benefits
