Service Engineer
with hands-on experience with machine software and electromechanical control systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot operational issues, execute system upgrades, and optimize automated machines and systems at customer sites, as well as assist with machines at SDC. This role includes device-level programming and setup, such as robots and vision systems, and software troubleshooting and upgrades. Why Join SDC?

Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and onsite visits to customers’ facilities with up to 50% travel to troubleshoot, repair and maintain automated machines and systems, primarily reviewing and updating robotics systems, vision systems, and PLC and HMI controls on existing SDC machines. Manage customer leads, interactions and communications before and during service visits. Perform electrical and mechanical diagnostics, using schematics and technical documentation to identify and resolve system malfunctions. Conduct preventative maintenance audits and service on SDC machines, as needed. Guide customers through troubleshooting to minimize downtime and ensure equipment efficiency. Collaborate with SDC engineering teams to leverage expertise in resolving complex operational issues. Represent SDC professionally and helpfully, promoting the company as a premier solution provider for custom machines, spare parts, future service, etc. Prepare detailed post-service reports, and document service calls, solutions, and best practices for invoicing and internal reference purposes. Assist on-site at SDC when not travelling, including working on new projects and assisting other engineers. Requirements
5+ years of experience in electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of automated machines or industrial equipment. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and repair both electrical and mechanical issues. Experience with robots, vision systems, PLCs, and other automation hardware. Familiarity with configuring and integrating industrial devices such as servo drives, sensors, and actuators. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and machine manuals. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear technical instructions to customers. Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to customer facilities. Valid driver's license and the ability to meet travel requirements. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Physical capability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 50 lbs. What We Offer
