Mechanical Design Engineer
Milwaukee, WI * Manufacturing We are currently looking for a candidate who wants to make a difference and who wishes to be part of our dynamic organization. Working within a fast-paced team tasked with the design of tanks and enclosures. Close working relationships with others in the team will be needed to be able to provide quality and on-time releases of orders to production. Responsibilities
Perform a wide variety of layout and detailed design duties supporting quotations, orders, and manufacturing projects. Navigate issues, develop corrective actions, and implement solutions. Work independently and within a team, owning assigned tasks/projects. Ensure designs meet standard shop practices and capabilities. Handle secondary tasks such as troubleshooting, vendor communication, updating ECRs, contacting customers, etc. Maintain a work task balance of approximately 90% design and 10% other projects. Contribute to manufacturing and productivity improvements. Solve manufacturing and assembly issues on the shop floor for both short-term and long-term solutions. Collaborate with manufacturing on new product development, exploring manufacturing methods within budget and timeline constraints. Conduct pre-reviews and post-reviews of jobs to ensure continuous improvement in cost and quality. Coordinate with planning, quality, purchasing, assembly, and design staff to ensure efficient production methods. Requirements
High proficiency in SOLIDWORKS; a test will be conducted during the selection process. Knowledge of ERP systems; PDM experience preferred. Experience in sheet-metal and weldment design is desired. Familiarity with manufacturing processes. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Hands-on individual capable of working from concept to implementation. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and schedules. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
