Job Summary
Essential duties include the locating and designing supports for various piping systems and performing associated calculations. Work closely with layout personnel and pipe stress engineers to deliver a quality and cost-effective design. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required. Prior experience should include working in a 3D model environment. Major Responsibilities
Evaluates, selects, and applies standard plant design and piping engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications. Performs pipe support structural analysis using GTStrudl and review of systems in accordance with DoD UFC standards, ASME B31.3, AISC, or other applicable code where required. Development & application of typical pipe supports and/or creation of pipe support calculations/drawings for engineered pipe supports as required. Perform coordination review of specifications and other documents prepared by disciplines. Education And Experience Requirements
Level I: Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience. Level II: Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience. Required Knowledge And Skills
Must be a US citizen. Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment, education, and travel. Possess active security clearance or ability to obtain security clearance. Good knowledge of AISC and ASME B31.3 and other relevant industry codes and standards. Prior experience using GTStrudl structural analysis program. Previous Bechtel project experience preferred. Previous DoD project experience for Risk Category 5 facilities. PE Registration.
