Who we are looking for: We are currently looking for a RDC Manager of Reliability and Maintenance Engineering (West Region). You will be responsible for managing contractors, construction, and vendors on the maintenance and repair of a multi-facility network to include power industrial trucks and overall facility maintenance and upkeep. You will oversee projects and partner with the Regional Distribution Center Managers while maintaining a safe and productive facility for our team members to work in. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Reliability and Maintenance Engineering. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a lean manufacturing or business system-based company. What you’ll do:
Manage Engineering Projects onsite while effectively communicating progress to the RDC manager and the Senior Manager of Reliability and Maintenance Engineering. Manage Powered Industrial Truck fleet. Coordinate the build-out of a new Atkore RDC. Responsible for the maintenance of physical facilities and onsite systems. Ensure that all corporate and regulatory safety requirements are followed. Follow up with contractors on facility maintenance and equipment repair. Work with the RDC Manager on future capital projects and repairs to keep the facility in top condition. Create RFPs for projects, repairs, and facility upkeep; solicit, evaluate, and make vendor selection recommendations from bids received. 50% travel to assigned sites and as business needs require. Submit and manage purchase orders for capital expenditures, building repairs, and local services. Lead the implementation and ongoing management of a CMMS for the assigned facilities. What you’ll bring:
Strong background in both Facilities Management and contractor engagement. 3 - 4 years of Facilities Management experience. Powered industrial truck fleet maintenance and purchasing experience. Ability to analyze information and create reports. Experience with Lean Manufacturing. Able to read blueprints and drawings. Proficient in Microsoft Suite 365. Solid understanding of building systems, fire, and life safety rules. Understanding of NFPA, OSHA, and local regulations. Within 3 months, you’ll:
Complete your Atkore immersion program. Meet all key internal Atkore stakeholders who you will interact with as part of your responsibilities. Understand how your job will help deliver on Atkore’s go-to-market strategy. Begin to integrate with your team, including RDC Managers. Become familiar with the Atkore vision for our distribution network. Have solid knowledge of the maintenance contracts and personal contacts for each discipline. Hold an introductory meeting with each vendor and contractor to identify opportunities to grow the partnership. Within 6 months, you’ll:
Successfully manage multiple projects. Participate in the construction and launch of a new Atkore Regional Distribution Center. Partner with our Atkore Business System team to drive Lean initiatives in the assigned region. Suggest and make improvements in each assigned facility. Conduct site tours/inspections for deficiencies on the PIT equipment and overall facility health; report findings and countermeasures to improve opportunities. Identify ways to strengthen the team’s commitment to Atkore’s core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence. Within 12 months, you’ll:
Take total ownership of each assigned facility's physical plant, including powered industrial truck fleet and on-site systems. Construct and maintain a budget for the physical plant activities for each operational site in the region. Create and update reports detailing projects and facility health. Perform scheduled audits for the condition of each facility’s physical plant, safety systems, and powered industrial truck fleet. Have meaningful performance conversations with the RDC leadership and your manager to grow the business. Be able to resolve issues quickly and safely.
