We are opening a facility in Lake Mills, Iowa, and need a strong leader to bring it to life. As Distribution Center Manager, you'll be responsible for launching operations, building a reliable team, and ensuring our warehouse runs safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with quality and regulatory standards. From hiring and training staff to overseeing inbound and outbound shipments, your leadership will set the foundation for long-term success. Who You'll Be Working With.
In this role, you will work closely with a cross-functional team including Transportation, Quality, Sales, and Production Planning to ensure seamless material flow throughout the operation. You will lead a group of warehouse employees—forklift operators, a supervisor, and inventory control staff—while partnering with internal and external stakeholders to deliver excellent service. Who You Are.
You are an experienced warehouse leader with a proven track record of managing people, systems, and day-to-day operations in a fast-paced environment. You thrive in startup or growth settings, bringing both structure and flexibility to new challenges. You have at least five years of leadership experience—ideally in food, agriculture, or manufacturing—and a strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and efficiency. You're organized, hands-on, and able to inspire a team to perform at their best while maintaining a culture built on integrity and continuous improvement.
Lead the launch of the Lake Mills warehouse, including equipment setup, systems, safety procedures, and staffing.
Hire, train, schedule, and supervise warehouse employees, ensuring strong team performance.
Oversee daily warehouse operations such as receiving, shipping, inventory, storage, and internal transfers.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, food and human safety standards, and company policies.
Maintain accurate inventory through Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP software.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Bring.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
5+ years of warehouse leadership experience, preferably in food, agriculture, or manufacturing environments.
Proven success supervising, hiring, and training hourly teams.
Strong knowledge of warehouse systems, inventory control, and ERP software.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead hands-on in a fast-paced, startup environment.
