This role reports to the Division Compliance Office and is part of the Global Compliance team. It can be remote, but the selected candidate must be able to regularly visit North Kingstown, Rhode Island to provide on-site support at the Quonset Point facility as required.

About The Role The US Compliance Manager will serve as the primary US compliance attorney for Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division. The role focuses on US export control and trade compliance and also covers anti-corruption, data protection, competition law, and public contracting. The role is hands-on and requires close collaboration with operational, engineering, and leadership teams at the Quonset Point facility and across the US, in coordination with global team members.
What You’ll Do Export Control & Trade Compliance
Manage and oversee compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, including EAR, ITAR, and OFAC sanctions.
Advise on export classification (ECCN, USML, HTS codes) and determine jurisdiction under EAR/ITAR.
Draft, file, and manage export licenses, agreements, and commodity jurisdiction requests.
Develop and deliver training programs for U.S. employees on export control obligations, sanctions, and company procedures.
Monitor regulatory developments and advise management on their impact on business operations.
Support internal audits and investigations of export control and trade compliance matters.
General Compliance
Provide legal and compliance support in areas such as anti-corruption (FCPA), antitrust, data privacy, and corporate governance.
Assist with the development, implementation, and enforcement of global compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
Advise on compliance risks related to sales, marketing, and supply chain activities in the U.S.
Contribute to training and awareness initiatives across various compliance topics.
Partner with internal stakeholders (Legal, HR, Finance, Operations, Sales) and external counsel/regulators as needed.
Support audits and business assessments related to US and abroad.
Provide legal and compliance management and support for US export control and trade regulations, including ITAR and EAR compliance.
Manage ITAR licensing and process administration to ensure timely and accurate filings.
Advise business leaders and staff on anti-corruption, data protection, competition/antitrust, and public contracting requirements.
Partner with factory leadership at Quonset Point to ensure operational compliance practices are embedded into day-to-day activities.
Develop and deliver compliance training programs across the US business.
Support investigations and audits related to compliance matters.
Monitor changes in US laws and regulations, translating requirements into actionable business policies.
Collaborate with global Legal and Compliance colleagues to ensure consistency with Hexagon’s compliance framework.
Qualifications
LLM or Juris Doctor (JD) degree or comparable experience and education.
US citizenship required (due to ITAR responsibilities).
3+ years of post-qualification legal experience in-house with demonstrated exposure to international operations.
Strong working knowledge of export control regulations, including ITAR/EAR, and experience managing ITAR processes.
Broad understanding of compliance frameworks such as anti-corruption, data protection, competition, and government contracting.
Ability to provide practical, business-oriented advice in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across the business.

Work Environment This is a Remote role, with the expectation of regular on-site support at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.
Work performed primarily from a home office environment, hybrid, or on-site in North Kingstown, RI.
Occasional time on the factory floor, with safety protocols and PPE as applicable.
Frequent communication with employees, leadership, and external stakeholders.
Travel may be required up to 20%.
