About the Role The Quality team works to maximize customer satisfaction and Hexagon profitability through the development, management, and continuous improvement of the business. The Quality Manager leads the Quality team, promotes the organization’s quality and process improvement efforts, ensures safety, quality and productivity standards are maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures, leads the continuous improvement effort and certification systems in conformance with ISO programs, and works with cross‑functional teams to determine root cause and corrective actions for any nonconformances in material or workmanship of our products and processes.

What You’ll Do

Promote a team atmosphere, quality achievement, process improvement, and the quality mindset throughout the organization.

Develop, mentor, and oversee staff in the performance of their day‑to‑day activities.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives affecting quality, safety, and environmental impact.

Assist production staff in resolving safety, quality, and productivity issues.

Interface with customers and the service organization managing quality issues to resolution.

Collaborate with engineering, operations, and external suppliers to establish quality requirements, ensure compliance, and product conformance.

Establish and maintain an effective Quality Management System.

Formulate and manage the development and implementation of goals, objectives, and systems pertaining to quality.

Recommend new or improved quality control methods, policies, procedures, and/or standards.

Ensure the organization’s continued certification and accreditation activities.

Manage internal, external, and customer audits and present results to the organization.

Liaise with customers and staff to facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Review issue trends and statistical analysis, advising on disposition and improvement actions.

Identify training needs, create training material, and conduct training programs on quality activities such as continuous improvement tools, ISO programs, and vendor qualification management.

Audit operational processes to determine capabilities and performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and verify that improvement results are sustained.

Maintain current knowledge of technical skills by attending training classes, technical and administration courses, independent research, seminars, exhibits, and trade shows as needed.

Occasional travel to customers, vendors, trade shows, or other Hexagon locations as required.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree.

Advanced knowledge of metrology, statistics, and industrial practices.

Systematic problem‑solving skills to address complex issues.

Ability to participate in and provide leadership on teams, maintaining a positive work environment.

Knowledge of Six Sigma, 8D Problem Solving, Lean Manufacturing, and TQM is preferred.

Thorough knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standard requirements.

10+ years of technical experience, 2+ years of supervisory/management experience preferred.

Team player who supports teammates and colleagues.

Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) tailored to varying organizational levels.

Strong people skills, ability to resolve conflicts and provide motivation.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to supervise the work of Quality personnel.

General project management and leadership experience.

Physical Demands

Frequently stationary for long periods; occasional bending/kneeling.

Manual dexterity required for keyboard use, operating office equipment, and grasping objects.

Regularly move around the office and occasionally the factory floor.

Occasional lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.

Requires close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Frequently communicates with coworkers and customers.

Work Environment

Primarily an office setting; occasional visits to the factory floor.

Office is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated.

Office noise levels are low to moderate.

Factory noise levels are moderate.

Personal protective equipment will be provided if required.

Travel up to 25% to customers, suppliers, and other Hexagon facilities may be required.
