Responsibilities
Receive and handle all incoming materials and supplies from suppliers
Verify, check, document, distribute and follow up on orders received and delivered
Assign receiving tickets to every incoming order to acknowledge receipts and to track order through to final destination
Enter shipping data into the computer terminal
Investigate problems and follow up with requisitioner
Verify part number on materials received against documents
Prepare bill of lading
Handle routine contacts with express and freight agents
Use terminal to make corrections and inquire about shipments and orders
Maintain inventory, general stock and company supplies
Operate various equipment such as computer terminals, printers, and lift trucks
Inspect shipments for damages or defects
Deliver items to requisitioning departments and obtain authorized signatures for accepted items
Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices
Improve and maintain 5S in your area; make suggestions for improvements and collaborate in team meetings and activities
Qualifications Minimum:
2 years of experience with freight carrier’s data base e. FedEx, UPS
2 years of related experience in the fundamentals of shipping/receiving
Valid driver's license
This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license). Active Security Clearance is required.
Preferred:
Security Clearance preferred prior to employment, otherwise, must be able to obtain to remain eligible for this position
Forklift certified
Great written and verbal communication skills
Experience in comprehending written and verbal instructions
Previous experience packaging and shipping chemicals
Computer skills in a networked environment using a Windows and/or Windows like interface; ability to use Enterprise-wide systems
SAP experience in the fundamentals of shipping/receiving
Analytical skills in reviewing and comparing data; identifying inconsistencies; determining priorities
Ability to quickly change priorities with flexibility and adaptability through strong time management
Salary Range:
$22.00 - $25.00 hourly (Level II).
Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
