Base pay range $80,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr
Quality Engineer – Aerospace Manufacturer We’ve exclusively partnered with a leading Tier 1 aerospace manufacturer based in the San Fernando Valley, which is expanding its Quality team following the onboarding of a major new customer, Rolls‑Royce. As the Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in establishing processes and documentation to ensure full compliance with Rolls‑Royce’s SABRe Quality Management System.
This is a high‑visibility position offering significant exposure to senior leadership, including the company president. Due to the strategic importance of the Rolls‑Royce onboarding, success in this role will open strong opportunities for future career progression.
Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer
Lead the implementation of Rolls‑Royce customer requirements, ensuring full compliance with SABRe, metallurgical specifications, and contract‑specific quality clauses.
Support and execute APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities for new product introductions and process modifications.
Drive continuous improvement by reducing scrap and rework through effective root cause analysis and cross‑functional collaboration.
Utilize SPC, machine capability studies, and gauge R&R analyses to evaluate and enhance process capability and stability.
Perform and support First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102 standards and specific customer requirements.
Interpret and cascade contractual and flow‑down requirements, ensuring understanding and compliance across all organizational levels.
Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits, including Rolls‑Royce and AS9100, by providing documentation, objective evidence, and ensuring audit readiness.
Requirements of the Quality Engineer
Hands‑on experience with Rolls‑Royce SABRe requirements and source inspection protocols.
Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, and other aerospace product realization methodologies.
Experience conducting process audits, supporting quality investigations, and interfacing with customers and regulatory bodies.
